2001 Dodge Ram 1500

Bumper was shipped quickly and got here in one piece. Fantastic shipping updates from Black Patch. Bumper fits great and only have minor gripes about it. Mostly due to quality control... Look, I understand that this is a more "budget friendly" option when it comes to full bumper replacements, but some of it could have been easily fixed. First off, there was a LOT of spatter from the welds on the bumper. This could have been EASILY taken off before powder coat was applied. As well as one of the flat pieces of diamond plate that sits directly under the driver side headlight is slightly bowed up. I'm thinking it could either be a defect from welding too hot and the metal warped slightly, or it could have been welded just slightly less than level. Either way, these are very small gripes about the bumper, but I feel they should be noted for Quality Control in the future.

-- NOTE -- This bumper WILL fit on 1500 model trucks. They should really advertise this to fit 1500, 2500, and 3500 models (non sport). The instruction manual did say however that "some 1500 models might require bracket modification", but mine slid in perfectly as well as all the holes lined up right where they should be. Also, if you are wondering if a "heavy" bumper like this would sag the front end down of a 1500; it won't, or at least I didn't notice anything with measurements before and after with the factory bumper w/ a chrome grille guard and the new bumper. They surprisingly weigh about the same and I didn't notice much difference. (approx weight, 180lbs)

Overall, a fantastic bumper! Especially for the price tag. Would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable "ranch style" bumper. I just really hope Quality Control sees this and tightens up their tolerances a little bit

Nice bumper, may need modifications if you tow heavy.

Very well built bumper at a fair price and it looks great on the truck. I tow heavy in a hot mountainous area so I cut the front out an modified it for better air flow.
